COVID -19 UPDATE:

The health and safety of our guests & employees is of utmost importance to us, and we continue to be vigilant by implementing stringent measures against the spread of COVID-19. We reinforce strict precautionary measures, including frequent disinfection of all areas of the hotel, including guestrooms. You can be assured that we take this very seriously & will continue to follow all the procedures recommended by our government health officials.


To keep you Safe:

  1.  Only registered hotel guests & restaurant patrons will have access to the hotel.

  2.  Our check-in has gone paperless

  3.  GIH is equipped with individual AC units in each room limiting   the risk of particulates being   recirculated

  4.  All guest rooms have windows that open so that you have access to fresh air whenever you need it

  5.  Hand sanitizer stations throughout the hotel

  6.  Complimentary masks will be available for all guests at the front desk.

TRAVEL INFORMATION:

 
The well being of our customers and colleagues is, and always has been our highest priority. To ease your concerns and provide a sense of security, the Granville Island Hotel, Vancouver, continues to remain vigilant and we have implemented rigorous measures against the spread of the coronavirus. The COVID-19 pandemic requires concerted efforts on the local, regional and international levels to ensure a clean and safe environment for our guests and colleagues. We will continue to respond and adopt the necessary precautionary processes based on the expert advice of governments, public health authorities and medical professionals.
 
STRICT HYGIENE POLICIES:
 
Our hotel is upholding the highest standards for hygiene and cleanliness, and have strengthened protective measures which include frequent disinfection of all high-touch areas, sterilization of all chinaware, glassware and cutlery using high temperature washing equipment, placing additional hand sanitizers around the hotel, and executing additional cleaning protocols in all rooms and suites prior to and after each guest’s stay.
Our colleagues – essential to providing excellent care and vital in helping to combat the spread of the virus - are guided by enhanced training sessions on hygiene protocols. On a daily basis, our teams are reminded to observe good hygiene practices to reduce the risk of possible transmission of the virus. These preventive actions include washing hands thoroughly with soap and water or an alcohol-based hand sanitizer, staying home if feeling unwell, and avoiding close contact with anyone showing symptoms of respiratory illness such as coughing and sneezing.
 
TRAVEL POLICIES:
 
In these times of uncertainty, we are mindful of the anxiety surrounding travel restrictions and we understand the need for flexibility in our policies to ease our guests’ concerns. We are making every possible effort to help our guests manage their reservations; therefore, our hotels will provide a full refund (and waive all related fees) on cancellations for direct individual bookings for stays up to and including 30 June, 2020.
For bookings made by a travel agent or an online booking platform, we are advising guests to contact their agent/booking site.

OUR CANCELLATION POLICY

To assist our guests, The Granville Island Hotel will be waiving individual cancellation fees for existing hotel stays through June 30, 2020. For stays after June 30, 2020 we will work with guests to manage any changes on a case by case basis. We encourage guests with questions to contact our Reservations department at 1-800-663-1840 or email reservations@granvilleislandhotel.com.

Guests who booked via online travel agents or other third party travel professionals are advised to contact their booking provider for information on their policies.

SERVICE UPDATES

In response to the current situation, we are adjusting our services effective immediately and would like to sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused. The following adjustments to our hotel operations have been implemented until further notice:

  • Business Centre and Fitness Room are temporarily closed
  • DOCKSIDE RESTAURNT REOPENS JUNE 10th - IT WILL BE OPEN WEDNESDAY TO MONDAY 11:30am to 9:30pm

Driving Directions to Granville Island Hotel

From The North – Vancouver

  1. Enter downtown via Georgia Street.
  2. Turn right on Burrard Street and head south over the Burrard Street Bridge.
  3. Turn left on 2nd Avenue, drive three blocks and turn left on Anderson Street (at the traffic light underneath the Granville Street Bridge).
  4. Turn left on Anderson Street to enter Granville Island.
  5. Once you enter the Island the road will automatically make you turn right onto Cartwright Street at the Kids Market.
  6. Follow Cartwright Street to the very end as the hotel is located on the northeast tip of Granville Island where Cartwright meets Johnston Street.
  7. The building is white with red trim and a fluorescent red sign that reads “The Granville Island Hotel.”

From The Vancouver Airport (YVR)

  1. Follow the signs into Vancouver. Take the Granville Street exit from the Arthur Lang Bridge and follow Granville Street to 16th Avenue.
  2. Turn left on 16th Avenue and take the first right on Fir Street. Follow Fir Street to 2nd Avenue.
  3. Turn right on 2nd Avenue. Turn left on Anderson Street to enter Granville Island.
  4. Once you enter the Island the road will automatically make you turn right onto Cartwright Street at the Kids Market. Follow Cartwright Street to the very end as the hotel is located on the northeast tip of Granville Island where Cartwright meets Johnston Street.
  5. The building is white with red trim and a fluorescent red sign that reads “The Granville Island Hotel.” Taxi Fare is approximately $25 CDN form the airport to the hotel.

From The South – Vancouver

  1. Take highway 99 – which turns into Oak Street – into Vancouver. Turn left on 12th Avenue, turn right on Hemlock Street and follow it under (not over) the Granville Street Bridge.
  2. At the bottom of the hill there is a stop light, turn left at the light. Get into the right hand lane and take the first right hand turn on Anderson to enter Granville Island.
  3. Go straight through the four way stop at 2nd Avenue and Anderson. Stay in the right hand lane. At which point you will be entering Granville Island.
  4. Once you enter the Island the road will automatically make you turn right onto Cartwright Street at the Kids Market.
  5. Follow Cartwright Street to the very end as the hotel is located on the northeast tip of Granville Island where Cartwright meets Johnston Street. The building is white with red trim and a fluorescent red sign that reads “The Granville Island Hotel.”

From The East – Vancouver

  1. Enter Vancouver via Highway 1, and take the Grandview Highway exit. Grandview turns into 12th Avenue.
  2. Follow 12th to Fir Street, turn right, then turn right again at 2nd Avenue.
  3. The next street is Anderson Street (underneath the Granville Street Bridge). Turn left on Anderson to enter Granville Island.
  4. Once you enter the Island the road will automatically make you turn right onto Cartwright Street at the Kids Market.
  5. Follow Cartwright Street to the very end as the hotel is located on the northeast tip of Granville Island where Cartwright meets Johnston Street.
  6. The building is white with red trim and a fluorescent red sign that reads “The Granville Island Hotel.”
